Emmanuelle Alt is the new Carine Roitfeld

i'm going to swim with the tides and also make my own special announcement (already posted here, here, & here) that Vogue Paris' fashion director EMMANUELLE ALT is now stepping up & taking the vacant space that CARINE ROITFELD left as editor in chief, effective February 1. this comes as no surprise. Alt has been with the mag since late 2000, and after ten years of doing such a great job, she's finally getting to have her name at the top of the masthead in the April issue of Vogue Paris. wow, there IS such thing as moving up in the magazine world. i now have hope.

i've always loved her style, as seen in one of this blog's earlier posts, here. but in spirit of this new news, i'll do homage to Emmanuelle, part deux.

Tomorrow's top smartphone? That'll probably be a 5G phone, like the Galaxy S10 5G, and then, eventually, a foldable phone with 5G, starting with the Huawei Mate X and Samsung Galaxy Fold. But foldable phones are unproven and 5G in the US isn't in enough cities around the country to recommend. Our list will remain practical.

Our pick for best phone isn't just crowning the newest iPhone and calling it a day, though our list does have a lot of familiar names: Apple, Samsung, Google, Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo and LG, all in the top 15. Newer companies in the US like Huawei and OnePlus make the list, too, though their limited availability is noted.
