Guys, I was just laid off and have efiled i539 3 days after the termination date for a status change to F2. Now working on the application letter. Do you think I should mention the layoff in the letter?
If I do mention it:
Con: The layoff might quickly catch the eyes of the immigration officer and if he want to check my status, he could find out the 3 days OOS.
Pro: My previous job was well paid. By mentioning it, I give the reason that why I want to stay at home as F2 instead of keeping the well paid job.
I guess I will mention it in the letter to explain the whole situation and hope everything will be all right. Let me know if anybody disagrees asap, I will mail out the stuff with in next two days.

It usually doesn't take that much fiddling. The car shot was a special case because of the black finish and the fact that I was shooting from a moving vehicle. At airshows I can usually get the effect I'm looking for in three or four attempts per lighting level (manual mode). I suspect that the motorcycles would be similar.

Folks,
I am in a similar situation..
I work for Company A on H1b which is valid till 2009 & expired Visa stamp, but I have filed a GC application thru company B and got EAD and Parole.
So if I leave the country, can I re-enter on company B's parole and still continue to work on Company A's H1b?

Venue: Diwali Mela, San Diego.
Date: Saturday, November 10th.
Target: A whopping 5000 visitors for recruitment and educational purposes.
I am looking for at least 4 So Cal volunteers/shift to take responsibility for 2 hour shifts at the booth. If San Diego/Orange County/LA members take turns in the booth shifts that day, this goal is achievable!

In marriage it is common to have differences. When both parties dont yield and stick to their guns, it leads to rifts that may buildup over time and lead to the possibility of divorce. If both of you can clearly site 3 points on why you'd like divorce (articulate), then the problem is solvable.
If one of you is not sure why its happening (either you are too ignorant or you are totally missing other's point), obviously its your problem to know what keeps a marriage going. And if one of you just is hell bent on divorce, just coz "you felt like/were told -- like you deserve more than what you got", that is foolishness.
Young (immatured rather) people are quick to jump into divorce thoughts when things are not going well (when the initial attraction fades). You just hope that they stick around long enough through thick and thin, which will help them to discover the value of the other partner. Grass is always greener on the other side isnt it ? At the same time petty problems (for some people) such as bedroom troubles, can lead to divorces. Extra marital affairs happen often in this situation.
Indian culture makes marriage such a big ritual with so many ties that offers immense support (by social pressures or family obligations..) to fend off these manageable problems.
Take a break, pray god , be open with out any 'EGO', try to share your feelings and understand his feelings with your fresh mind. Also Try to have your respectful elders like your grand parents or your mom or father or his parents or his grand parents at home. Please don't take this worthless decision of divorce quickly unless he is a criminal trying to kill you.. it's very easy to break and very very hard to construct your relationship or very hard to face another relationship, we Indians give top most value to that relationship. Today's Western media which runs on the consumption, influences everybody's thoughts to go for consumption based system which forces to divide families and gain more from it. This is the idea of capitalists to loot from an individual. here is West, this damn media focuses to break the relationships to boost their consumption based economy with out thinking about their future generations.
As a last attempt, Please try to live with your parents for sometime to think fresh and make the decision.
See this video and try to understand what Mr.Venkatesh tells about the west and it's media strategy, think about Goddess Lakshmi what he is talking about in the end of this video .

Hi Friends, I searched through some of the prior posts and did not find the answer. I am not looking for cities to live in from the point of view of job, taxes, weather, desi population, desi amenties such as movies, restaurants etc. I am looking for answers from our indian friends living in various parts of usa, about where they felt was the best place for their children to live and go to school in terms of less racism and equal opportunities at school and playgrounds. I am also not looking at the whole state but cities themselves.
Many of us can't choose our job and where we want to live. but children are more vulnerable than us and in an environment you may not be able to control. A pooled information from my friends will be useful to me and I am sure my other friends. Also information about cities which you didn't like from your children's point of view and may reconsider living in if you had a chance.
I will say it first- some of the smaller cities in PA are not the best for your children.

Hi desi9333, let me answer your question in general and note that this is not a speculation on the OP's case. A common reason for L1 denial could be that the USCIS determines that the petitioner isn't really in a 'specialty' occupation. For example, if his job description mentions java programmer, then he is more likely to get denied since we know there is a surplus of java programmers in this country (US citizens, LPRs and our favorite H1Bs). Since I was on an L1 visa, I know the purpose was really 'specialty' occupation which means you need to be an expert on something that's not easily available in the U.S.

L1 is intracompany transfer. Means you worked for a foriegn company in some other country and you are expert in their technology(in-house) or products. And they require you at their office in US. That's where they should apply for L1 Visa.

Can someone confirm that if you file I-485 with old fee system and pay for the new fee when you renew EAD and AP, do you still need to pay again on your 2nd time renewal ?

Are you sure she is 2 months away in getting her visa number current? For example if her priority date is Jan 1st 1998 and they are currently processing Nov 1st 1997. It seems like you mother will be current in 2 months but it could take USCIS 2 years to move forward 2 months in processing. Processing dates don't move by calendar time.
Maybe I am misunderstanding your question. If so please ignore the above.
If she has been out of the country for any significant amount of time during the 6 years she can file an extension for that time. I would not recommend that she continue to work if the H1 has expired and I think you should consult an attorney to figure out her options.

I am going to new Delhi for h1b stamping in few days. While preparing my file for h1b stamping, I figured that my attorney has mentioned wrong SSN on for I-129. Past 4 numbers of SSN mentioned is last four digits of my phone number which is not right. Would it adversely affect my h1b stamping? What should I do? Keep all mail receipts for records and copies of all and ANY correspondence with the attorney. Wait how he responds. Normally, your attorney should admit the mistake and straight things up with USCIS on himself.This is because an attorney can loose a license to practice in his state if he does not fix this after you file a complaint with state BAR. If you receive no feedback, you should inform a state BAR about this to protect your self. Then, go to a different attorney's office and try to work with a new attorney to straight things out. This is serious. Contact me via PM if you need more info. thanx.
Remember: USCIS keeps a copy of each thing you send. So, sooner or later this important mistake may surface and cause you trouble. That's why you need to fix this out.
