Thank you for all the quick replies.
I understand that in october, they might bring up some issues regarding Legal Green Card application.
One of them will be to clear the backlog for those who legally applied for the GC.
Can some kind soul please give me information about this ?
Does this applies to me or does it applies to the Employment based GC or GC application in general ?

Did anyone get their 140 approved from Vermont?
My 140 and 485 were filed late July 07 in Nebrasks and I got notices stating the 485 was transferred to Texas and 140 was being processed in Vermont.
The Vermont processing time for 140s has been stagnant at April 2006 for a long time.
Wondering if anyone has any updates on this.

If you are born in UK and if you apply for labor certification under EB-2 category (job requirement: Master's degree or BS+5 yrs exp) then your priority dates are current and you can file for I-485 and get your GC in about 1.5 yrs...(ofcourse only if its not stuck under name check or any other complications...)

Can anybody please let me know what are the documents needed to file for 485. If I do not have any immunization record, how can I show that immunization record?
Somebody with experience please post. It has been answered earlier elsewhere, but I could not find it through search.

TSC processing times for Feb is out.
I-485 has advanced to 18th July 07.

Any idea with whats going on with TSC Processing times, my PD is current Nov' 2003, however do not see any movement in the processing times, 485 applied on Aug 7, 007, any idea when they will publish the new processing times? Any way we can know where we are in the 485 proccess?

Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Department of Defense (DOD) today announced that National Guard deployments to the Southwest border will begin on Aug. 1 as part of the administration�s unprecedented efforts to combat the transnational criminal organizations that smuggle weapons, cash and people across our Southwest border. The President has also requested $600 million in supplemental funds for enhanced border protection and law enforcement activities, which are critical to our ongoing efforts.

I got my 45 day letter last month. The letter came to the Lawyer's office who faxed it to HR. HR director signed it and returned it to the lawyer who then posted it back to BEC. I looked at a copy of this letter. It is very straight forward. It only requires the attention of employer and/or lawyer. The employee does not figure into it at all. So, follow up with employer (HR) and your lawyer about it. But do not delay. If BEC does not receive a response within 45 days they will mercilessly close the case. So, beware!

My 140 was denied based on the filing was Eb2 but job requirement only fits in eb3.
I filed my appeal with a new 140 on the same labor in Eb3, and in my Motion to Reopen specified to consider my old application in eb3 but if they will not to atleast consider my new application. This was an year back and I have filed premium, my new 140 was approved in 3 days, old one went AAO, but we withdrew the old one.
Talk to a good attorney, I consulted Aron Finkelstein in Murthy law firm. They were nominal and excellent customer support.

Kudos to Senator Chuck Schumer for raising the profile of a serious issue - discrimination against same-sex partners in US immigration law. Even as several states are enacting marriage equality laws and anti-discrimination laws are moving forward around the US (including here in my home town of Memphis), the antiquated Defense of Marriage Act prevents USCIS from treating these families fairly. The UAFA would be a huge step forward. The Senate will have its first hearing on the bill tomorrow. Hi Guys
I went to local USCIS office today and asked about my case status. My I-485 was filled on 08Feb07 in EB2 category. A lot of people who have fillled I-485 after me, have already received green cards.
The Immigration lady was very nice and she told me that my case can not be approved as my name check is still pending with FBI. The name check was initiated on 24Feb07. She created a service ticket for me providing a target date of middle of next month. The ticket said that "Please approve asap after getting clearance from FBI". I do not know what does that mean? Still trying to figure out???
Then I asked about name check status of my dependants. She mentioned that their name check has been resolved which is different from cleared. She created a different SR for my dependants requesting Approval of Green cards as name check has been resolved again giving me mid of next month as target date. Does it mean that my depandants can get approval before my approval?
Gurus Any idea what should I expect. Do I need to continue to follow up with FBI and senators regarding my name check and collecting information for case file?
